Our Clinic and Facilities
Renfrew Animal Hospital operates out of a modern, fully equipped veterinary facility at 1801 Renfrew St in Vancouver’s Renfrew-Collingwood neighborhood. Our clinic is designed to support a wide range of veterinary services under one roof, including in-house laboratory testing, digital X-ray, and ultrasound imaging. Having these capabilities on-site allows our team to gather results and begin care without unnecessary delays or external referrals for routine diagnostics. We are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Walk-ins are welcome during all open hours. For emergencies outside our hours, we direct clients to Canada West Veterinary Specialists at (604) 473-4882 or the Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre at (604) 879-3737.

Dr. Naresh Dhiman, DVM, MSc Surgery
Dr. Naresh Dhiman completed his veterinary degree at the top of his class and further deepened his surgical training through a master’s degree in surgery. Licensed through the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), Dr. Dhiman brings particular depth of experience in dentistry, surgery, and ultrasound. His approach in the exam room is calm and thorough, with a clear emphasis on keeping clients well-informed about examination findings and the options available to them. Dr. Dhiman believes that well-informed clients make better decisions for their pets, and he takes the time at every appointment to ensure that is the case.
Dr. Arun Sharma, DVM
Dr. Arun Sharma graduated with honours and brings over 20 years of veterinary experience drawn from both government and private practice settings. Also licensed through the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Sharma’s extensive clinical background across a broad range of cases makes him a reliable resource for both routine and more complex presentations. His years of hands-on experience across diverse practice environments give him a grounded, practical approach to patient care that clients find reassuring.
Our Approach to Care
At Renfrew Animal Hospital in East Vancouver, we believe good veterinary care begins with good communication. We take time at every appointment to explain what we find during your pet’s examination, what it means, and what the available options are. We do not rush appointments, and we do not recommend care your pet does not need. Our goal is for every client who visits us to leave with a clear understanding of their pet’s health and what to expect going forward. New clients are always welcome, and we are happy to work with your existing records to ensure continuity of care for pets coming to us from other clinics.
Community and Rescue Partnerships
Renfrew Animal Hospital is proud to be a partner clinic with VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association) and the Mountainside Hope Foundation. Through these partnerships, we provide veterinary support to help rescue, heal, and place orphan kittens in loving homes across the Vancouver area. This work reflects our broader commitment to the wellbeing of animals in our community, extending beyond the pets who visit us each day through our front door. We are grateful to work alongside organizations doing meaningful rescue work throughout East Vancouver and the broader Lower Mainland.
